1 AGRICULTURAL ENGINEER CADRE | Agricultural Engineer Grade II 08 BSc. B.Tech Surveying. Planning, designing, constructing, opening and maintaining specific agricultural engineering projects. Maintaining, testing and operating implements, vehicles and general equipment for use for mechanical cultivation. Assisting in supervision of agricultural engineering workshops. Candidate must have a degree in Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering Structural Engineering from a recognized University. MOA
2 AGRICULTURAL FIELD OVERSEER CADRE | Agricultural Field Overseer 04 SSCE Performing under supervision, agricultural extension duties which may include: Distributing and selling fertilizers and other farm inputs farmers. Advising farmers and conducting simple demonstrations them at village level. Candidate must possess any of the following qualifications: West African School Certificate or Senior Secondary School Certificate preferably including a pass in Botany, Biology or Chemistry. General Certificate of Education (Ordinary Level) with four credits obtained at one sitting or five credits at two sittings preferably including Botany, Biology, and Chemistry. BASA BASA BSADP
3 AGRICULTURAL OFFICER CADRE | Agricultural Officer Grade II 08 BSc. B.Tech Assisting in supervising agricultural extension programmes/projects in a defined geographical area. Collecting and assisting in evaluating data on agricultural extension services. Candidate must have a degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Science, Agricultural Economics, Horticulture, Crop Science or Crop Production from a recognized University MOA BSADP BASA
4 AGRICULTURAL ASSISTANT CADRE | Agricultural Grade II 04 JSSCE Plant Nursery Assisting in Selection of suitable site Assisting in clearing of site Assisting in provision of shade materials-going to the bush to collect bamboos, ropes, palm and grass stalks. Assisting in potting-collection of top/peat soil and filling of polythene bags knotting). Assisting in spraying and fumigating with chemicals Assisting in the distribution and sales of seedlings Assisting in other maintenance of the nursery e.g. watering, mulching,building grafting pruning Plantation Assisting in the selection of site Assisting in lining, marking pegging and holding of the field Assisting in the transportation of seedlings from the nursery to the field (loading and off-loading) of seedlings Assisting in planting of the seedlings on the field Assisting in the weeding and rouging of the plantation Assisting in the application of fertilizer Assisting in pest controls using various chemicals Assisting in harvesting and processing of farm produce Candidate must possess a minimum of JSSC who has successfully completed the two years' training programme in the school of Agricultural Institution and obtained the National Certificate in Agriculture. 6 AGRICULTURAL SUPERINTENDENT CADRE | Agricultural Superintendent 06 ND Supervising the activities of a number of junior workers in the Agricultural Extension Units. Taking charge of a small agricultural project. Working with groups of farmers and agricultural Co-operative Societies on the Farmers' Farms. a suitable Assistant Agricultural superintendent-in-Training or an Agricultural Field Overseer who has successfully completed the training course for Assistant Agricultural Superintendent at a recognised School of Agriculture. a candidate who has successfully completed the two-year training course for Assistant Agricultural Superintendent or obtained a recognised OND in the same field. 7 FOREST SUPERINTENDENT CADRE | Forest Superintendent 06 ND Supervising the activities of junior officers in a Forestry or WiIdlife Project or Programme. Taking charge, under supervision, of a small Forestry/Wildlife Project or Programme. an Assistant Forest Superintendent-in-Training or Forester or Forest Overseer who has successfully completed the training course for Assistant Forest Superintendents at a recognised School of Forestry. a confirmed and outstanding Senior Forest Overseer/Forest Ranger. a candidate who has successfully completed the two-year training course for Assistant Forest Superintendent at a recognised School of Forestry. 8 LIVESTOCK SUPERINTENDENT CADRE | Livestock Superintendent 06 ND Supervising the activities of a number of junior workers in the field of Animals Disease Control, Animal Production/Management and Veterinary Public Health. Taking charge, under supervision, of a Livestock Project. a suitable Assistant Livestock Superintendent-in-Training or Livestock Overseer who has successfully completed the training course for Assistant Livestock Superintendent at a recognised Veterinary School or Animal Health Institution. a candidate possessing OND or who has successfully completed the two-year training course for Assistant Livestock Superintendent in a recognised Veterinary School or Animal Health Institution. 9 FOREST ATTENDANT CADRE | Forest Attendant Grade III 03 FSLC Performing, under supervision, routine manual work in a Plant Nursery,Garden/Plantation, Forest/Game Reserve or Zoo/Sanctuary. Clearing and maintaining access routes and boundaries. Collecting the required materials for herbariums. Preparing soil mixtures for nursery work. Tendering nursery stocks and ornamentals in gardens. Preparing wild animal carcasses for display. Feeding zoo animals. A candidate possessing the First School Leaving Certificate. COA
10 FOREST OFFICER CADRE | Forest Officer Grade II 08 BSc. B.Tech Working under supervision in a Forest Reserve or Field Project. Collecting data for the preparation of working plans. Forest Utilisation Working under supevision in a Forest Reserve, Forest Plantation,Forest Industry,project or Sawmilling and Forest Utilisation Centre. Collecting relevant data for forestry industries planning and management. By direct appointment of candidate possessing a degree in Forestry, Forest Resources Management, Agriculture, Agronomy, Plant Zoology, Botany/Biology, Forest Engineering, Forest Utilisation, Timer Technology or Wood Science from a recognised University. 11 FOREST ASSISTANT CADRE | Forest Assistant Grade II 04 Certificate 1. Performing under supervision routine manual work in the following areas - Plant Nursery, Garden/Plantation, Forest/Game Reserve, or Zoo/Sanctuary. 2. 13 FOREST OVERSEER CADRE | Assistant Forest Overseer 03 SSCE Candidates are required to undergo a two-year on-the-job training within the Department. By direct appointment of a candidate possessing any of the following qualifications:- 1. Evidence of completion of a full course in a Government approved Secondary School or S.75 Certificate with a bias for Science subjects. 2. Junior Secondary School Certificate. 3. 14 AGRICULTURAL SUPERINTENDENT CADRE | Senior Agricultural Superintendent 08 HND 1 Taking charge of an agricultural project or operations requiring no supervision. 2. Supervising and Training Agricultural Extension Workers. 3. Assisting in training agricultural personnel in a Farm Institute or other agricultural training Institution. 15 LIVESTOCK OFFICERILIVESTOCK DEVELOPMENT OFFICER CADRE | Livestock Officer/Livestock Development Officer-Grade II 08 BSc. B.Tech Performing, under supervision, in a Livestock Unit/Project, Livestock extension duties. Collecting and assisting in evaluating data in Livestock or related matters. A candidate must possessed a degree in Animal Science, Animal Husbandry, Animal Production, Agriculture or Range Management from a recognised University. MOA BSADP
16 LIVESTOCK OVERSEER CADRE | Livestock Overseer 04 SSCE Performing under supervision, the duties in the field of Animal Disease Control, Animal Production/Management and Veterinary Public Health. Inoculating Livestock and keeping records of vaccinations at: - Veterinary Clinics. - Immunisation Centres. - Livestock Farms. - Livestock Control Posts. A candidate must possessed any of the following qualifications. - West African School Certificate or Senior Secondary School Certificate. - General Certificate of Education (Ordinary level) with four credits passes obtained at one sitting or five credits passes obtained at two sittings, preferably including Biology or Agricultural Science. - By promotion of a confirmed and suitable Livestock Attendant Grade I who has passed the Livestock Overseer Confirmation/Promotion Test at Promotion Level (i.e.50%). By promotion of a confirmed and suitable Assistant Livestock Overseer who has successfully completed the training course specified in here (This is a training grade for the preparation of candidates for the post of Livestock Overseer.
